The “Ecological Building” certificate program teaches you the basics of planning for future generations, evaluating sustainable buildings, thinking in terms of resource cycles and taking into account building biology and health aspects in planning. For this holistic approach, different scale levels are considered – from the city, to the neighborhood, to the building.

The course program is divided into three modules: Introduction to Ecological Building, Life Cycle Engineering and Circularity & Healthy Building.

Urban planning and construction play a decisive role in reducing CO2 emissions and adapting our cities, neighborhoods and buildings to climate change. A fundamental shift towards interdisciplinary, holistic planning processes is therefore necessary. The aim is to optimally prepare specialists and managers for the challenges of the construction industry by integrating the latest research content and to provide them with an integral planning approach – sustainable and future-proof.

Graduation:After successful completion of the final exam, you will receive a certificate from the Technical University of Munich

Target audience:Architects, urban planners, civil and environmental engineers, landscape architects, as well as specialist planners (e.g. sustainable construction, building physics, building services engineering) and employees from the public sector (e.g. building department, department for urban planning and building regulations) or executives from the building industry who want to acquire competitive knowledge in the field of ecological construction.

Admission requirements:Participants should have at least two years of relevant professional experience and ideally a degree in construction, a technical college or a university degree
