The course Sustainable Innovation & Entrepreneurship addresses corporate innovation and entrepreneurship in response to evolving geopolitical, economic, environmental, technological, and societal realities, emphasizing the necessity for sustainable management approaches. The course aims to equip you with a deep understanding of increasingly multi-faceted global success factors and threats for corporate innovation strategies in an ever-changing environment.

The program focuses on two critical influencing success factors:

Integrating new disruptive technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Quantum Technology, and Robotics in daily business.

Develop innovation strategies based on sustainability concepts.

Both factors have shown their extensive potential to enhance the prospect of success of corporate innovation practices. Moreover, Sustainable Innovation & Entrepreneurship delves into the composition of effective entrepreneurial teams, focusing on talent identification and cultivating a working culture conducive to transforming promising ideas into business success. In a “Sustainable Innovation Project,” you will have the chance to work on a real innovation challenge. You will be supported by a professional innovation coach for several weeks and get feedback on your results from an expert jury.

5 ECTS credits possible: The certificate program is eligible as an elective for our Executive MBA students if you do both the module and the project work with coaching session.

After the course, you will

  • understand how new technologies can contribute to sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship to generate economic and social value,
  • understand the intimate connections between different business models and implementation strategies, whether as Entrepreneur or Intrapreneur,
  • be able to evaluate the chances and risks of business ideas in a global environment, taking into account all aspects including financials,
  • be capable to derive comprehensive, feasible, yet sustainable, future-oriented corporate innovation agendas based on critical influencing success factors like new disruptive technologies, new global ecological, political, social and economic upheavals,
  • qualify in composing high performing innovation teams and be equipped with appropriate tools and methods to lead entrepreneurial teams and solve conflicts in critical situations,
  • be able to use tools for entrepreneurial thinking to succeed even in a dynamic environment.

Graduation:After successful completion of the final exam, participants will receive a certificate from the Technical University of Munich.

Target audience:The program is designed for professionals from mid-sized to large corporations who wish to strengthen and improve their entrepreneurial activities with a sustainable management approach; and therefore need future-oriented evaluation frameworks to either improve their existing innovation strategies or develop new ones. Furthermore participants should be interested in diving deeper into thinking and acting like an entrepreneur.
