Quick Info
Benefits
-
Unique cooperation
The program was developed together with Fraunhofer AISEC, a leading institution in the field of IT security. You will benefit from both institutions’ extensive practical and research experience and gain a unique insight into current IT security topics.
-
Networking opportunities
You will learn from each other’s experiences by working with experts from different industries and having the opportunity to bring in questions and challenges from your professional practice. You can also exchange ideas in person during the day at the TUM AISEC Lab.
-
Flexible and practice-oriented learning format
The part-time program with weekly online sessions allows you to apply your newly acquired knowledge directly in practice. The theoretical units are supplemented by practical exercises at Fraunhofer AISEC. Here, you can bring security problems from practice and develop a possible solution under supervision. An excursion to Fraunhofer AISEC offers a unique insight into current IT security topics.
Program Overview

Learning objectives
Understanding the basics of IT security
You will develop a solid understanding of the fundamental, practice-relevant concepts and principles of IT security. This includes security modeling, threat and risk assessment, and the specification of security objectives. We will also look at cryptographic methods, the design of security protocols, and authentication mechanisms that provide the essential toolbox for achieving security objectives.
Application of security measures in practice
You will learn to analyze, develop, and implement security measures in real-world scenarios. This includes discussing real-world security problems, developing possible solutions, and applying security principles to specific situations.
Mastering advanced security concepts and techniques
You learn to apply advanced security concepts and techniques such as system hardening, random number generation, access control mechanisms, and exploit protection mechanisms. This will enable you to analyze complex security problems and develop effective security solutions.
