June 1, 2020. Joining us this year for their new appointments at TUM School of Management are Prof. Dr. Miriam Bird, Prof. Dr. Jingui Xie, and Prof. Dr. Benjamin Loos. Their research and areas of expertise range from company succession, healthcare analytics to product innovation and investor behavior. With such a rich depth and breadth of knowledge, we couldn’t be more pleased to have them further enrich our already outstanding team of educators. We are delighted to welcome them, and we wish them a successful start at TUM!
Prof. Dr. Miriam Bird now holds the Professorship for Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprise at the TUM School of Management, TUM Campus Heilbronn. As Director, she will also lead the Global Center for Family Enterprise (GCFE). In her research, Miriam Bird focuses on topics such as company succession, innovation, and strategy in family firms. In particular, she is interested in better understanding the social context enterprises are embedded in. Previously, Prof. Bird held positions as Assistant Professor and Operative Director at the Global Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of St. Gallen (2015-2020).
Joining Prof. Dr. Miriam Bird at the TUM Campus Heilbronn is Dr. Jingui Xie. He is now an Associate Professor of Business Analytics at TUM and earned his PhD in Management Science and Engineering in 2010 at Tsinghua University. During his PhD studies, he was a visiting scholar at Columbia University and, after earning his PhD, worked as a research fellow at the National University of Singapore. Prof. Xie is particularly interested in using big data and analytics to improve healthcare worldwide.
Also newly appointed to the TUM School of Management but located at the Munich Campus is Professor Dr. Benjamin Loos. Professor Loos studies behavioral and household finance with a focus on financial advice, (digital) product innovations like ETFs, fintech and individual investor behavior in general. Before joining the TUM School of Management as Professor of Digital Finance, Benjamin Loos held positions as Associate Professor at the University of Technology in Sydney, and as Assistant Professor at Mannheim Business School and Goethe University Frankfurt. Prior to his Ph.D., Prof. Loos worked in the investment banking departments of Bank of America and HSBC.
