Structure
The program is divided into four subject areas. In each step, you will not only learn the theoretical aspects of the topics, but also their practical implementation using the Python programming language.
Module 1: Databases and data cleansing
- Introduction
- Data sources and databases
- Data cleansing
Module 2: Data transformation
- Introduction to programming tools, Jupyter Notebooks and Python
- Feature extraction and selection techniques
Module 3: Data Mining and modeling
- Linear regression
- Overfitting and regularization
- Logistic regression
- Neural networks
Data mining and modeling form the focus of the program. The central principles of machine learning are taught and applied to real data sets from production technology.
Module 4: Evaluation and interpretation
- Group work
- Interpretation of the results of machine learning models based on real data sets from production technology
On the last day of the program, participants will have the opportunity to visit the iwb’s state-of-the-art laboratory on the TUM campus in Garching and see some live demonstrations.
